A new anti-terror law recently took effect in the Philippines. Left-wing lawmakers want to overthrow it calling it a “recipe for authoritarian rule.” It endangers our civil liberties won during the ousting of Marcos in 1986. One issue with the law is how terrorism is used as a blanket term for everything
The new law defines terrorism as any of at least 12 violent crimes — including murder, kidnapping, arson, piracy and rebellion — that cause widespread and extraordinary panic and force the government to give in to an unlawful demand.
wake up people! your freedom is slipping away.
The piracy mentioned in that law refers to maritime piracy which is fyi, still quite rampant not only on Philippine waters but also in other parts of the globe. This is not about Copyright infringement dude! Nakakabobo talaga kung puro kamanyakan lang palagi laman ng isip eh! Peace!
