Before I go on a working vacation to finish a site to be hopefully launched by 2/4, I wanted to post something with a little substance….

This post has been a long time coming. The call center videos on YouTube are a hit. Not a hit in terms of “You rock” or “This is funny”. It’s a hit based on the # of comments and views. How many Pinoy videos have more than 34,000 views and 300+ comments? Not that much. You must check out the comments. HILL-AIR-E-US. For those that 1) Fail to examine and question before commenting and 2) Are just plain retarded, those videos are used to 1) Promote Putanginamo.com and 2) Promote Putanginamo.com.

Let me take you inside the “bit”….
I have learned that people would rather criticize something “bad” rather than praise something good. Those stupid call center videos should not be viewed and commented that many times but we as people cannot control our own self-righteous egos leave it alone.

The marketing plan is so simple. Post something that will piss people off without being hateful but still edgy. Because people cannot control themselves, they will comment causing the buzz to go up when they are trying to kill it. Fuck heads! If you want to shut someone up, the best thing to do is to leave it alone and walk away. That does more damage than:

Isn’t this considered a bodily threat? Can’t he get busted by the cops? If not, he should be arrested for “where u leave” and “better full out your stuff”. That made me smile.

I don’t really have a conclusion but ultra-nationalists make me sick. I’m as proud as any so-called Pinoy - so much so that I think that we should no longer be called Pinoy or Filipinos to distance ourselves from Spain. Bottom line, you can’t be screaming Pinoy Power and watching Wowowee! at the same time.

There is no need for all this long-sustained pride. A moment is enough to celebrate and give due credit. Week-long features on how one person intends to spend his winnings and statues erected in his name are overkill. There also is no need for this Filipino pride. It doesn’t matter if a Filipino or an Ethiopian won. Being too proud of one’s nationality breeds racism. Every talent is world-class. Saying Filipinos are world-class CAN ONLY MEAN that there are others who aren’t. If everyone was actually world-class they wouldn’t be celebrating in the first place. Hence, the concept of racism (about which Asians always had the problem).

Do I need to explain that I’m not talking about ALL Pinoys? I don’t think so. Shit, that was a long post. Perhaps my longest ever.
